[[ Hi EveryOne,

I am currently waiting for my next flight coming back to France after a bit more than 3 weeks in Asia.

After a really short trip in Hawai for a photoshooting, I flew beginning of May to Yokosuka in Japan for the 2nd stop of the World tour. The program was clear, 6 racing days split with the 2 discipline Slalom and Foil. The conditions were pretty good right before the event to sail in slalom with some low pressure wind but unfortunately it was not really good for slalom during the event. It was not possible to valid any race in slalom mode due to this light wind. In Foil it was a different stories, we were able to race in light but perfect conditions. Lot of people were waiting for this event as it was the opening one for the foil discipline. For me I was there to get some answer and see if all our winter effort pay off . In fact , we work a lot on this foil project in sail board and also foil. Straight win the 1st race I managed to finish 3rd. The equipment was working pretty nicely , few peoples were estanished of this result but I knew that with some good gear I could be fast ! The day after, we race a new complete elimination and It was a new 3rd place for me. I was really happy of this consistence. During the 3rd race, the pressure was pretty high on the starting line and few riders did a mistake with over early start. The wind was super light and I push really hard to keep a good place of 5th at the end of this races. Coming back to the beach the organisation crew inform me that I was leading the event. I was pretty regular and it pay ! On the next day we went out for an early morning race but the wind disappear quickly , When I came back to the beach I unfortunately walk in a rock with certainly some oyster and I cut really hardly the bottom of my right foot. We didn’t race on this day and I had the opportunity to discover the Japanese hospital for a check and a cleaning. During the last day of the event we went out and start a new elimination but the wind disappear completely right before the final and the event was call off . The result stay the same and I won my first Foil World Cup ! I am just super happy of all the work we did with my sponsor during the winter . No time for rest, all the board bags went straight to the plane direction South Korea for the next slalom stop ! /// Hello

[[ After the 3 first days of the event which were pretty wet and grey the wind finally kick in and we could start in event in Jinha-Beach in South Korea. The conditions were pretty difficult for us but also for the organization with a super unstable wind . We only manage to valid 2 races on day 5 and unfortunately I was not really ON with 2 early exits on the quarters. Not really in my plan but it’s a good proof of the insane level there is on tour this year. After a good night, I was ready to compete and come back on the last day of the event for the ultimate elimination. The speed and the smile was back and I have been qualified for the big final and I finished in 3rd place. This helps me to take 15 places on the ranking, and be back at the 12th place in the ranking . ]]

[[ A big part of the season is now behind , it’s 50/50 for me with this insane victory in Foil which make me proud and also with this big come back in slalom even if and didn’t achieve my goal. Now quick break home with 2 day off and 2 medical check for my foot as the water in Asia is not really the nicest. And I will be back on the Foil Tour for the 2nd stop in Costa Brava and I will fight to keep my ranking ;)

Thanks for all the support & messages.

Pierre
